Sabrina’s Defense!

Sabrina successfully defended their thesis - “Simultaneous Chemical & Physical Surface Patterning from Photopolymerization Induced Phase Separation: An Elegant Approach for Biomimetic Interface Formation.”

It was a special occasion complete with beetles and breadsticks!

AIChE Annual Meeting

October 29-31, 2024

Caroline attended the AIChE meeting in San Diego and presented our ongoing work on dental adhesive design. During this time she was recognized for her service over the past year as the chair of the WIC Community (Women in Chemical Engineering), and was also elected the vice-chair of Area 08A (Polymers).

Research Exchange with Northwestern

The lab welcomed Samira Khan and Hongwei Wu (Graduate students in Physics and Civil Engineering, respectively, at Northwestern University) for a research exchange as part of our NSF Funded work on rupture and instabilities in polymer gels.

2024 CHEMS Research Forum

The lab was well-represented at the 2024 CHEMS (Chemical Engineering & Materials Science) Department Research Symposium. Graduate students Denghao & Surbhi gave poster presentations, and Sabrina an oral contribution!

Fall ACS Meeting

Caroline & Allie attended the 2024 Fall ACS meeting in Denver. Allie gave a poster in the PMSE Graduate Student session and a talk in a Active & Responsive Matter. Caroline gave an invited talk in a symposia on Colloid & Surface Chemistry in Energy & Sustainability.
